Each font has a licensing contract attached so you know exactly what kind of Creative Commons license is allowed. And if you use their tool you can create your own.

Another site that allows you to upload your own font is myscriptfont, but I haven't tested it. They have a template and you write all your letters into the template and download. Then their system spits out your finished font.
Same thing with writing-fonts.com, but theirs is a paid service (about $10).
I think there are probably a lot of these, but these are the three I looked at when I was playing last week.

I've never tried playing around with font creators. I've always wanted to but I just never seem to find the time. I might have to check these out now though and give it a try. Thank for sharing.

DeleteI've been floored by how many people are out there creating really neat fonts and giving them away. How cool is that? I probably couldn't do that, but they probably couldn't write a book, so... haha! Long time no see, how have you been?
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long time. I'm doing pretty well--trying to find a job, at the moment. Hopefully something that will let me continue to write. We'll see.
