Merry Christmas

This month I’m thinking about Christmas stories. Some of my favorites from years ago, and which I still love. “Mandy,” which is about an orphan who climbs over the wall and finds a hidden cottage. “Holly and Ivy,” about an orphan and a doll. “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” Picture books and story books, short stories and “The Byrds Christmas Carol.”

Every one of those stories is about giving. They’re about friendship and forgiveness and sharing even when it’s hard. No matter what our circumstances, each and every one of us has something to give.

If you have nothing else, you can offer a stranger a smile.

  1. Several of those stories are about orphans as well. My husband took me to the play of the Best Christmas Pageant Ever the night he proposed to me, so it's one of my favorites, too!

  2. I cry every time I read it. And I just got a copy of Mandy--I didn't even make it through once before I was bawling!

As if you haven't guessed, I figured out the posting thing. Maybe.
